Ryobi Edge Trimmer? I have a 30cc Ryobe petrol driven edge trimmer and when I try to start the dam thing it starts and belches out blue smoke and then cuts out. At the same time the fuel starts to leak from where, I cannot locate, I have checked all of the fuel lines and they are fine as they were renewed a couple of months ago. Does anyone have any suggestions apart from taking it to a repair shop. Or should I just thow it out and buy a new one?
I would probably toss it for a new one. I have a Ryobe 775r. It replaced a gas powered string trimmer that would not start. I took it to a repair shop and they wanted $100 to repair it. The Ryobe cost $119 new plus I can add attachments as needed. If the engine is putting out blue smoke it sounds like the fuel mixture is too lean. If that is case it is probably beyond most home mechanics. Good Luck.
