Stihl Chain

I have a Stihl chain saw and the dealer says they cannot fix it cause they no longer make the parts. It is?
about 25 years old. Can this be true? Should I take it elsewhere? BTY, I cannot start it so maybe the carburetor?
If the saw is 25 years old there is a very good chance that they no longer make that part. Getting a second opinion is always a good choice. Keep asking until you get the answer you are looking for. If they truly dont make the part anymore you could always look on line for the part used or maybe try e-bay and find the same model saw that you have for sale. You might find on one that doesnt run anymore that the seller is just trying to get rid of dirt cheap but the part that you are looking for is still in good working order. If the saw will not start the first thing I would do is check the plugs wires and carb. You might also have old gas in the tank.
