Best practice for maintaining my NiCd Recharable Battery (18V 1.7Ah)? I have 4 related questions but before i get to them please read the details first: I recently purchased the Worx 18V WG150 Grass Trimmer. This trimmer came with 2 recharable batteries (each battery is: 18v 1.7Ah NiCd). The trimmer included a battery charger with a feature to automatically prevent these batteries from overcharging (it monitors heat). The trimmer only uses 1 battery to operate. My 4 questions: 1. Both batteries have not been charged yet (they are fresh out of the box). Because i want to only use 1 battery can i just pack the 2nd battery away in storage (completely discharged) for maybe a year (or more) and when i need it i can just dust it off, fully charge it, and get going?
2. To best maintain my battery, i was thinking i should FULLY charge it (from a completely discharged state) on the day i need it (charging takes 1 hour when battery is completely discharged), and then use the trimmer until the battery has been completely depleted (a complete cycle). And then store the battery, now entirely discharged, until i need it again maybe a month or more from that point. Is that an acceptable plan, realizing that the battery will be stored totally discharged for long periods? 3. If i fully charge it then how long can i keep the battery in this charged state before i must discharge it? Are there any consequences to keeping it fully charged for long periods besides a potential 10-20% self-discharge occurring? (i.e., will the battery become damaged?)
4. Is it best to keep the battery entirely discharged when storing it for long periods? How long can i keep it stored in a discharged state before i must fully charge it again, if necessary? Does the battery become damaged by being entirely discharged for long periods? Thank you.
keep them charged but dont recharge them until they are fully discharged, they develop a memory.2 batteries are better than 1

The traditional walk behind mower is a foundation of life in the suburbs. The American Ambition of proudly owning a home comes with a lot of necessary household tasks along with choirs, not the slightest of which is the upkeep of the yard. For over 1 century the mower in its numerous varied forms has been the pre-emanate tool for this job. There is no better way to make sure you get a clean close mow than to use a walk behind. These mowers offer you the capability to tend to the yard on hands on level and to get the sort of results that you wish for. They are simple to operate and are great for folks who are searching to get a little additional exercise in their life. The walk behind mower has experienced a lot of changes over the course of its life. The current marketplace is filled with a wide variety of push mower styles and choices; amongst which anyone can find the one that is just right for them. Of course the big debate amongst for those who like their mowers is the case of Electric opposed to. Petrol v. Manual. This discussion has been going on for decades and it does not appear that there might occur any end to anytime soon. The plain truth is that all three have their pluses and minuses. Let's take a look at the three and what each has to offer. Electric Mowers are accepted nowadays due to the interest in environmental recognition. The main problems that people have with electrics are the reality of the motors not being very powerful. This leads to them cutting out as soon as a heavy patch of growth is encountered. They also complain in a lot of cases that the battery do not hold a charge that lasts long enough to get the complete job complete at once. This can be solved by the latest introduction of solar driven mowers but the obvious issue here is how well they work when it is cloudy or drizzly out. Clearly corded mowers are the best alternative here but they have the issue of needing yards and yards of extension lead to reach the entire yard. Folks that declare that the electric battery mowers are the best choice see these as a great alternative that allows for them to be a little less effect on the natural environment. These also are a good alternative for a someone who may go through problems with the fumes and their breathing. While no gas is being burned, there are no dangerous fumes to deal with. There are drawbacks especially with the ones that are corded, these cords are hard to keep out of the way and can over time become damaged easily. The types that have a battery tend to not last as long and will end up taking you longer in order to mow your lawn. Gas mowers make available a lot of power, but as we all well be aware of they also provide a great deal of noise and a lot of petrol fumes. The pluses of these mowers are offset by their main drawback, the cost of the fuel required to power them. Fuel prices keep going up. More and more the cost of gasoline is increasing which makes there small motor mowers more inconvenient to use. Really it does not matter what style of walk behind mower that you decide to use, you could discover them to be the greatest bet at getting the sort of high quality outcome that you want. Mowers from the top brands such as EarthWise, Lawn Boy, Black & Decker, WORX Eco, Epic all have taken distinctive approaches to trying to resolve many of the limits in each category that have been of obstacle in the past.
